WIKAIR in Spain: March 2026 Workshop Recap

In March 2026, WIKAIR brought its student-led AI education initiative to Spain, delivering a series of interactive workshops across three international schools in Valencia and Madrid. Over three days, our team engaged with more than 250 students, introducing them to the diverse applications of Artificial Intelligence across coding, mathematics, entrepreneurship, and media.

Through hands-on activities, discussions, and collaborative challenges, students explored not only the opportunities AI creates but also the ethical questions surrounding its development and use.

Before our journey across Spain started, our EU team had a fun team building session, helping our members to rehearse and get ready for the following workshops.

Rehearsal day, Mar 22, 2026

Day 1: Mas Camarena School, Valencia

The journey began at Mas Camarena School in Valencia, where around 70 students participated in a series of workshops exploring different applications of AI.

The day started with AI + Coding & Vibe Coding, led by Ivy Zhang, where Computer Science students explored how AI tools can support programming and the emergence of vibe coding. Through hands-on activities, students experimented with AI coding tools and explored how AI chatbots can be developed. The session also encouraged students to think critically about the role of AI in programming, discussing questions around creativity, reliability, and whether AI can replace human problem-solving.

Following this, Mateo Llorente introduced students to AI in Entrepreneurship, exploring how AI can support businesses through different stages of development, from idea generation to decision-making. Students applied their knowledge by creating business plans for a small coffee shop competing against global brands such as Starbucks, using AI as a strategic tool while debating the ethical responsibilities of AI-driven decisions.

The final workshop, AI + Media & Cinema, was presented by Elisabeth Arcon and Daniel Tasker. Students explored how AI is currently being used in filmmaking, from production to creative development, before discussing the ethical challenges surrounding AI-generated content and the future relationship between technology and creativity.

Day 2: Cambridge House British International School, Valencia

The second day welcomed approximately 110 students, with five workshops designed for students from Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Drama, and Media backgrounds.

Ivy Zhang led two sessions focused on programming: AI + Coding for younger Computer Science students and AI + Vibe Coding for A-Level Computer Science students. Through interactive laptop activities, students explored how AI can improve programming efficiency while considering whether AI-assisted coding affects originality and quality. The vibe coding session introduced students to a new approach to software development, where ideas, creativity, and prompt engineering become central to the coding process.

Students interested in Mathematics and Science participated in AI + Maths, delivered by Alejandro Soler Suso. This workshop introduced the mathematical foundations behind AI systems, explaining how algorithms and machine learning models allow AI to process information and make predictions. Students also had the opportunity to ask technical questions to WIKAIR advisor Wende Zhang.

The day continued with Mateo's AI in Entrepreneurship workshop, where students developed business strategies using AI and presented their ideas for competing against major corporations. This led to discussions about accountability in AI, including the question: "If an AI makes a mistake, who is responsible?" The day concluded with AI + Media, where students experimented with AI creative tools and explored the differences between human and AI-assisted creativity.

Day 3: SEK El Castillo, Madrid

The final stop of the Spain tour took place at SEK El Castillo in Madrid, where around 75 students joined four specialized workshops.

Students explored the mathematical concepts behind machine learning with Alejandro Soler Suso, experimented with AI-powered programming through Ivy Zhang's vibe coding session, developed AI-driven business ideas with Mateo Llorente, and examined AI's growing influence on filmmaking and creative industries with Elisabeth Arcon and Daniel Tasker.

Inspiring Future AI Innovators

Across three schools, WIKAIR's Spain 2026 Workshop Series showed students that AI is not only a technological development, but a tool shaped by creativity, responsibility, and human decisions. By connecting AI with coding, mathematics, business, and the arts, WIKAIR continues to inspire students to question, experiment, and collaborate in building the future of technology.

We would like to thank all participating schools, teachers, advisors, and students for making this workshop series a success. WIKAIR looks forward to continuing its mission of bringing accessible AI education to students around the world.
