El Plantio & SEK El Castillo: June 2026 Round Two

Ladies, gentlemen and everyone in between, welcome back to a Wikair blog where we delve into the fascinating workshops that we were yet again able to host. Our workshops started on the 9th of June 2026 and were hosted graciously by El Plantio in Valencia. The workshops consisted of AI and entrepreneurship, agents, and media. Welcome to round two of Wikair 2026.

AI + Entrepreneurship - Isla Vocale

The workshop had two sessions with a total of 25 students who were from year 12 and the best students from year 10 also attended, the majority of whom were computer science (CS ) and business students in IB. The workshop consisted of the students learning about the four stages of entrepreneurship and how they can leverage AI to help them along. They then applied this theory in groups to revive a desolate boba shop which was losing money. The groups then voted on the best idea, and the winners received prizes right before moving onto the final stage of having a mini debate about the ethics involved when using AI in business.

When asked about the workshop, students commented that ‘it felt relatable since it is presented by students,’ Another said that ‘it’s relevant to our futures and studies and was a unique way to bridge theory and practice. When asking the thoughts of the business management teacher he commented about how ‘it was interesting to see how the discussion unfolded and the different views.’

What the students enjoyed most and commented on was how relatable the workshop was since it was hosted by students who were studying the same things as them, how it was relevant to their future careers, and how it bridged theory and practice. The business management teacher commented on how the students expressed their views during the debate and how interesting it was to the discussion to unfold and equally as importantly how this was an excellent opportunity for the students' futures.

AI Agents - Ivy Zhang

Ivy, a passionate CS student and president of the CS club at her school hosted a workshop on AI agents which was attended by 24 CS students in IB and the years consisted of year 12 and 10. Throughout the workshop Ivy has several Q&A sessions where students got to engage and learn about language learning models (LLM) and how they learn; what AI agents are, harness engineering, how they work, and the possible consequences and risks of using them as well as the ethical questions. The students were then invited to do an activity that allowed them to create their own AI agents, and the two with the best ideas were given prizes.

The students felt that the workshop tied together very nicely the proper and misuse of agents and one said, ‘it’s inspiring to know that even young people can achieve and start doing things like this.’ Their IT teacher then commented by explaining how ‘it's very relevant nowadays, especially with how technology is evolving and the access that we have.’

AI + Media - Eli Arcón

Eli, a CS student who has an extensive knowledge and passion for cinema, was the one to host the AI + Media workshop that had 16 students from years 10 and 12. To begin the workshop, Eli had a small activity where students had to spot the AI. This was then followed by a quick article about which movies had used AI; and how AI is used in pre-production and post-production. Students were then split into two groups where one had to use AI to create a script, and the other could not. In the third activity, the group using AI was not allowed to and vice versa when they needed to create a poster about the script. To wrap up the workshop Eli gave a heartfelt speech about art and how AI is shaping the world around it, and the ethics behind it.

The students commented on how the workshop was presented and ‘I particularly enjoyed the design and how it was presented,’ another elaborated on how it was interesting to understand the mechanics and how the use of AI has developed over the years in the industry.

After a short hiatus while we were travelling to Madrid, we finally arrived and dived straight into a team building activity. The next day we found ourselves hosted by the wonderful SEK El Castillo.

AI Agents - Ivy Zhang

Ivy's riveting workshop was attended by 10 students, all of whom were from year 11. The workshop consisted of learning about the wonderful world of LLMs, engineering, and understanding behind how AI agents work, what they can do, as well as why we should be careful with them. Two brave volunteers then shared what their agents were about; one was going to remind people about upcoming tasks, when to drink water, etc.; the other was a spreadsheet that would be able to track financials, grades, etc.

When asking the students their thoughts several explained that ‘we learned new information and how its relevant to our futures, but we were also able to develop a deeper understanding on the topic because of the explanation.’ We also happened to see some familiar faces who had previously joined this workshop.

AI + Media - Eli

Eli's second workshop was attended by six students from y11. Her deep dive consisted of pre- and post-production use of AI, the ramifications of a movie made completely by AI, and VFX. One group who used ai ended up creating a script where an alien crash-landed and had insurance complication, and the one without ai had a more suspenseful story where there was a cliffhanger after she ordered a cappuccino - All students had the same prompt. The students then created posters based on their scripts; however, the group that used ai needed to do it manually and vice versa.

When the IT teacher was interviewed, he commented on how ‘the workshop was well managed as well as the activities, and speaking,’ he continued by elaborating on ‘the students will be able to apply this newfound knowledge in future projects while also understanding how the industry will continue to evolve over the years.’

AI + Music - Bela

The workshop featured 17 enthusiastic y11 who participated in an activity where two volunteers needed to create their own rendition of a rap song using AI. Throughout the workshop Bela spoke about how AI generates music, defining 'human' music, and why some artists may be driven to use AI. These factors included speed, cost, etc. and featured how they were affected before and after ai. She also shared the negatives and positives about ethics and marketing that are bound to be revealed when using ai in music such as deepfakes.

The students commented on how interactive the workshop was with one explaining ‘I had no idea that it could get so hard to tell the difference between AI generated and human music, it was quite shocking.’ Another student followed up by elaborating on ‘how easy it actually is to generate music with AI’ and how the music industry will evolve based on this.

AI + Entrepreneurship

Isla Vocale is a student passionate about business, ethics, and global politics. The presentation featured 21 students from the IB business course and covered the four stages of entrepreneurship and how AI can be used throughout as well as some of the responsibilities and skills needed by the entrepreneur. After temporarily becoming entrepreneurs, the students were then invited into a lively debate where they decided on their stance on the following scenario: to cut costs should AI replace a human employee? Throughout the debate, the students were encouraged to question each other to better understand each other's views and give counter arguments.

When students were asked about what they thought they commented on how ‘workshops like this aren’t normally seen and I don’t regret a single second,’ they both then elaborated on how ‘interactive and easy to understand’ the workshop was and how it was relevant to their studies and based on the foundation of their previous knowledge they were able to come to new conclusions.
